‘Peace Up’ is a re-branding design campaign and social practice art project created to bring awareness to the correct version of the peace sign and bring about true world peace through art. Peace Up uses the inverted right side up peace sign as the original symbol, which celebrates global accomplishments made in the pursuit of nonviolent and peaceful resolutions.
“I truly believe that energetically the power of the correct peace symbol flipped up right has the potential to bring the vibration of the entire world to a higher level”.
The inverted peace up symbol represents the shape of mankind in the “Celebrated Peace Pose”. Standing in a “Y” shape with both arms outstretched upwards at 45 degree angles reveals the divine proportions of the human body coded in a symbol of peace.
Peace Up is the symbol of humanity celebrating peace. It is the graphical symbolic representation of our natural evolution to aspire toward true world peace. Representing our core values as a species that are unconditional, loving, peaceful beings. It is our evolution ciphered into a symbol.
Peace Up is the celebration of our equality and co ownership of the world, giving birth to anew era of enlightenment and abundance to all. Peace Up is the right side up!
Many of us are not aware that originally the peace sign faced upward. In the 1950’s Gerald Herbert Holtom first designed it in its downward position and then later in its upward standing position. He was an English designer who regrettably designed the peace sign to represent the despair of man in support of Nuclear Disarmament. In this downward position the icon is associated with the death of man and Holtom then redesigned the symbol to its upward position to celebrate peace instead, but it was too late as the sign spread quickly to America and was adopted by the anti-war and counter-culture movements of the 1960’s.
When I became aware of this history and looked at the inverted upright peace sign, I immediately felt a shift in my energetic vibration. That’s when I knew I had to reinvent this symbol and bring it to the world.
I ask of you to join us and stand up together with all the different cultures of the world and manifest real everlasting peace. In the “Celebrated Peace Pose”, let’s all stand together with upward arms toward the heavens, expanding with joy like a tree growing tall. Empowering ourselves with new choices, new freedoms, and sharing mutual benefits to all people of the world regardless of class, gender or religious beliefs. Let’s stand up for kindness and liberate the world. Let’s rise up with our fellow citizens and become a part of the imaginal cell-ebration. (The caterpillar’s new transformation cells are called imaginal cells when it becomes a butterfly).
